In the late hours of a Wednesday evening in Washington, D.C., the life of 24-year-old Terrence Jones, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On November 4, 2020, at approximately 10:36 p.m., the sound of gunshots echoed through the 5400 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest, prompting a response from the Metropolitan Police Department. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Terrence Jones suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene, and Jones
was quickly transported to a local hospital. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The incident, which is being investigated as a homicide, also left another individual, an adult female, with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. She was found inside a vehicle at the same location and was also taken to a hospital for treatment.
The investigation into the shooting of Terrence Jones is ongoing, and authorities have not yet publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the case. The Metropolitan Police Department has offered a reward of up to $25,000 for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this violent act. Detectives from the Homicide Branch are actively seeking assistance from the public to gather more information about the circumstances that led to the fatal shooting.
