In the early morning hours of Mother's Day, May 10, 2015, Epri Nataye Cain, a 32-year-old Black / African American woman, was fatally shot in her Las Vegas, Nevada, apartment. The incident occurred at approximately 3:45 a.m. in the 4800 block of Cleopatra Avenue. At the time, Cain was at home with a family member, watching television, when they heard a knock at the front door.
