In the summer of 2022, a tragic event unfolded in a Las Vegas apartment that claimed the lives of two young people, including Deanna Maria Diaz, a 24-year-old Hispanic woman. On the night of July 29th, Diaz and a male companion, identified as Samiir Smith, were inside a residence in the 1900 block of Cindysue Street. Their evening was violently interrupted when two unidentified men knocked on their door.
