On the evening of June 23, 2021, the life of 18-year-old Shania James, a Black female, was tragically cut short in a northwest Las Vegas residence. Responding to a 10 p.m. report of a shooting on Jaquita Avenue, police discovered a chaotic scene. Inside the home, they found Shania, who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds to her head and back and was pronounced dead at the scene.
