In the late hours of February 16th or the early morning of February 17th, 2007, a young Hispanic/Latino woman named Briana Jean Schlick was tragically killed. The 20-year-old female was babysitting at a home in the 7300 block of Sundown Glen Street in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sometime during the night, an unknown individual or individuals gained entry to the locked residence.
Briana was discovered sleeping on a couch and was fatally shot in the head.
The circumstances surrounding the entry into the home and the motive for the shooting remain a mystery. Those who knew her described Briana as a kind and loving person, making her violent death all the more shocking and devastating to her family and friends.
Despite an investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Briana's murder remains unsolved. To date, no clear suspects have been publicly identified or arrested in connection with the crime. Authorities have in the past appealed to the public for any information that might lead to a breakthrough in the case. The investigation remains open, leaving her loved ones still searching for answers and justice for her untimely death.
