In a harrowing tale of violence that unfolded in an east valley home in Las Vegas, 27-year-old Hispanic female Angelica Jimenez tragically lost her life. The events leading to her death began on the afternoon of November 16, 2015, when a home she was in was intentionally set on fire. Inside, firefighters discovered a horrific scene where family members had been bound, assaulted, and left for dead.
The family members present in the house were subjected to a brutal attack before the fire
was set. Assailants zip-tied their wrists, sealed their mouths and noses with duct tape, and repeatedly stabbed them. After the violent assault, the victims were doused in gasoline and the house was set ablaze. One man, Mario Jimenez, was found deceased inside the home by firefighters. Angelica Jimenez, along with others, was hospitalized with severe injuries from the attack and the fire. She ultimately succumbed to her injuries and passed away on February 17 of the following year.
The investigation into this brutal crime led to the arrest of three men: Malik Watson, Darrin Wilder, and Hakim Blanche-Jones. The motive for this heinous act appears to be connected to a dispute over a significant amount of missing drugs, valued at $80,000, which had disappeared a couple of weeks prior to the incident. Reports suggest a family member may have had involvement with a Mexican drug cartel and had a separate drug-related business with one of the suspects. The attack was reportedly precipitated by threats concerning the missing drugs and money. One of the suspects, believed to be Blanche-Jones, initially entered the home and was let in by the family. Shortly after, two more men entered, one of whom was armed, and the violent home invasion began. Watson, Wilder, and Blanche-Jones faced multiple charges, including murder, kidnapping, and arson.
