On September 20, 1978, the quiet Las Vegas neighborhood of 5571 Berchams Avenue was shattered by a grim discovery. Concern had grown for the well-being of 38-year-old Caucasian female Sandra S. Owens and her 57-year-old mother, June L. Noah, after they hadn't been seen or heard from. A neighbor, whose name was not released, went to check on the two women.
