In the winter of 2019, a tragedy unfolded in a Williamsburg, Brooklyn apartment building, cutting short the life of a young man. On the night of Saturday, January 19th, police were called to 280 Frost Street, a part of the Cooper Park Houses, shortly before 10:30 p.m. There, in the third-floor hallway, they discovered 27-year-old Daryl Eleam with a fatal gunshot wound to his torso.
Originally from the nearby Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, Eleam was rushed to Woodhull Hospital, but his
injuries proved too severe, and he was pronounced dead. The incident was quickly deemed a homicide by the New York City Police Department, sparking an immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deadly shooting.
In the initial days following the incident, the authorities confirmed that they were actively investigating the case. However, no arrests were made in the immediate aftermath of the shooting. As of early 2019, the investigation was ongoing, with no suspects publicly identified or taken into custody in connection with the death of Daryl Eleam. Another homicide occurred at the same housing complex later that year.
