Laquan Deshawn Nelson, a 16-year-old from Brooklyn, NY, was tragically shot and killed on June 2, 2014, in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. The incident occurred just before 6 p.m. inside the playground area at the Lafayette Houses on Classon Avenue. Witnesses reported that the shooting happened steps away from the 88th Precinct, raising concerns about the police response time and the delay in the arrival of an ambulance.
