On the cold evening of March 15, 2017, the life of 19-year-old Trevon Dickens was tragically cut short in the East Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. The young man, a resident of East New York, was discovered lifeless in the middle of East 91st Street with a single gunshot wound to his head.
The grim discovery was made around 6:15 p.m. by a Department of Sanitation worker who was operating a snowplow near Railroad Playground, between Ditmas Avenue and Avenue B. The unexpected and macabre finding prompted an immediate call to 911. When emergency responders arrived, they pronounced the young man dead at the scene, his body left in the snow-covered street.
In the initial stages of the investigation, the New York Police Department had not made any arrests and were actively seeking information from the public to help find the person or persons responsible for this violent act.
