Deshawn Herbert, a 21-year-old college wrestler, tragically lost his life in a gunfight outside a Brooklyn housing project on March 27, 2021. Herbert, who had returned to Brooklyn to mourn his grandmother, was involved in a shootout in front of NYCHA’s Unity Plaza on Georgia Avenue in East New York.
