In the early morning hours of March 27, 2021, a promising young life was tragically cut short on a street in Brooklyn, New York. Deshawn Herbert, a 21-year-old Black male known for his infectious smile and talent on the wrestling mat, was fatally shot in the head. The incident occurred just before 4 a.m. in front of an apartment building on Georgia Avenue in the East New York neighborhood.
