In the early evening hours of a Sunday in April 2014, a tragic event unfolded on a street in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn. Twenty-nine-year-old Ivan Martinez was walking near Maria Hernandez Park when he was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. outside of 320 Suydam Street.
