On March 16, 1989, the body of Shirley Ann Stanton, a Caucasian female, was discovered off the side of a road near Laughlin, Nevada, by passengers on a bus. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the scene and determined that Stanton was the victim of a homicide. Her body had been there for several days before being found.
