On a warm Sunday evening in Las Vegas, on August 12, 2018, the life of 44-year-old Ted Williams Hale was cut short by a fatal gunshot. The incident occurred at the Silver Pines Apartments on East Russell Road, near Boulder Highway, where police were dispatched around 10:30 p.m. following reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers found Hale in the doorway of a vacant apartment, a space known to be frequented by squatters. He was suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
A 911 caller and medical personnel attempted to render aid at the scene, but their efforts were in vain, and Hale succumbed to his injury.
Initial investigations suggested that Hale had been in the apartment with several other individuals when a fight broke out, escalating to the deadly shooting. In the chaotic aftermath, the other occupants of the apartment reportedly fled the scene before authorities could arrive.
