In the late evening of September 3, 2025, the life of 22-year-old Terek Amahd Harris, a male resident of Birmingham, Alabama, was tragically cut short in a sudden act of violence. At approximately 9:27 p.m., while inside his home in the 200 block of Meadowdale Avenue, multiple gunshots were fired through his bedroom window. An unknown assailant unleashed the fatal volley, striking Harris and leaving him with mortal wounds.
Officers from the East Precinct were dispatched to the residence
following a report of a person shot. Upon their arrival, they discovered Harris unresponsive in a back bedroom of the house. Despite the prompt response from Birmingham Fire and Rescue, his injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:48 p.m. Fortunately, no one else in the home was injured during the shocking attack. Harris's death marked the 57th homicide in the city of Birmingham for the year 2025.
In the immediate aftermath, law enforcement established a perimeter around the neighborhood to search for evidence and begin their investigation into the senseless killing. However, despite their efforts, the person or persons responsible for Terek Amahd Harris's death have not been apprehended. To date, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects in the ongoing investigation. The Birmingham Police Department has appealed to the public for any information that might lead to a breakthrough in the case.
