In the early afternoon of January 5, 2009, Cornelius Rogaria Mosley, a 34-year-old man, was shot and killed in a brazen daylight attack in Birmingham, Alabama, marking the city's first homicide of the year. The shooting, which also left Mosley's brother wounded, occurred just after 12 noon at the intersection of First Avenue South and Goldwire Street.
