On August 19, 2020, at approximately 4:33 p.m., 24-year-old Cadarius Killian was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama's Gate City neighborhood. Officers from the Community Safety Partnership Unit responded to reports of a person shot in the 7500 block of 66th Courtway South. Upon arrival, they discovered Killian lying unresponsive in a grassy area, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue and the Jefferson County Coroner.
