Flowers had previously lived at the apartment complex where the shooting occurred and had friends there. His family, including his wife and sister, Quintanette Sharperson, were deeply affected by his death. Sharperson remembered her brother fondly, describing him as a funny person who loved cooking and his tattoos. She had visited him on his birthday just a month prior and recalled his request for a cake, a promise she was unable to fulfill due to his untimely death.
The investigation into Flowers' death was ongoing, with police seeking witnesses and security footage. As of late Tuesday, August 21, 2018, detectives had not identified any witnesses or suspects.
