David Duke, the owner of the car used in the getaway, was booked on August 5, 2021, on charges of harboring, concealing, or aiding a felony offender and violating his parole. During an interview with detectives, Duke admitted that the car was his but denied any knowledge about the shooting.
Tiffany Lee was subsequently charged with one count of open murder in connection with Johnson's death. She had a scheduled court appearance following her arrest, marking the beginning of the legal proceedings against her.
