In the late summer of 2018, a dispute over a mere $10 escalated into a fatal encounter for a 55-year-old Hispanic male from North Las Vegas. Richard G. Gomez was shot and killed on the evening of August 28, 2018, in the parking lot of a restaurant on the 1500 block of North Eastern Avenue, near East Owens Avenue.
