On a late November morning in 2018, a distressing 911 call was made by 24-year-old Jesus Montiel. He reported that he had been shot while on a trail near a wash in the southeast area of Las Vegas. The incident occurred around 11:40 a.m. on November 20th. Emergency services responded to the scene on the 3100 block of South Mojave Road, and Montiel was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. Initially, the injuries he sustained were not believed to be life-threatening.
