In the early morning hours of a January Saturday in Phoenix, Arizona, a life was tragically cut short. Kajmere Burton, an 18-year-old African-American woman, was caught in a burst of gunfire that erupted during a fight outside a party at a vacant house near 4200 West Carter Road. The incident, which occurred on January 7, 2017, left two other young women, aged 17 and 19, wounded but fortunate to survive.
