In the quiet neighborhood of Spring Valley in Las Vegas, the evening of March 24, 2019, was tragically disrupted by what residents initially mistook for fireworks. A Caucasian female, 18-year-old Christina Gallina, a recent graduate of Green Valley High School, was found inside a running vehicle in the 4300 block of Alderbrook Court. She was discovered alongside her 25-year-old boyfriend, Treasure Munhenga.
The grim discovery was made by neighbors who were hosting a barbecue and noticed the car and its unresponsive occupants about a half-hour after hearing the popping sounds.
Upon investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, it was determined that Christina Gallina had sustained fatal gunshot wounds to her head and neck. Her death was officially ruled a homicide by the Clark County coroner's office. The investigation pointed to a grim conclusion: a murder-suicide orchestrated by her boyfriend.
Treasure Munhenga was identified as the sole suspect in Gallina's death. Authorities believe that he shot and killed Gallina before turning the gun on himself. Munhenga was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and was transported to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The coroner later confirmed his death as a suicide. The incident was recorded as the 30th homicide investigation in Clark County for that year. No other suspects were sought in connection with this case, as all evidence indicated Munhenga acted alone in the tragic event that cut short the life of the young woman.
