In a tragic turn of events on a Monday morning in North Las Vegas, 64-year-old Caucasian female Robin Robinson's life was cut short in a violent encounter. On September 20, 2021, police responded to a report of a shooting at approximately 11:15 a.m. on the 6600 block of Giant Oak Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered Robinson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency services transported her to University Medical Center, but she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
The Clark County coroner's office later confirmed her death as a homicide resulting from the gunshot wounds. The investigation into her death quickly pointed to a suspect close to home: her 31-year-old son, Andre Robinson. A witness at the scene identified him, leading to his arrest the following day.
During police questioning, Andre Robinson reportedly confessed to the crime, stating he was tired of his mother controlling him. He allegedly told investigators he had asked his mother for money and, while she was in her car, he reached through the passenger window and shot her. According to the arrest report, he expressed a desire to plead guilty if he received the death penalty. Andre Robinson was subsequently booked into the North Las Vegas Detention Center and faced a charge of murder with a deadly weapon.
