On the morning of May 21, 1981, Denver Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 2600 block of Welton Street. Upon arrival, they found 53-year-old Calvin Castlebarry with a serious gunshot wound to his torso. He was immediately transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
