Christine Marie Eastin, a 19-year-old woman, went missing on the night of January 18, 1971, in Hayward, California. She was last seen around 10:00 p.m. after borrowing her ex-boyfriend's 1969 Ford Maverick to run errands, including shopping and getting the car washed. Christine had planned to pick up her ex-boyfriend from his job at a Jack in the Box restaurant later that night but never arrived.
The following morning, her car was found locked and parked at Charlie's Car Wash on Mission Boulevard. Items from inside the car, such as papers, were scattered on the ground near the vehicle. Her purse was found locked inside the car, and it appeared she had completed washing it before she disappeared. Despite extensive searches, there was no sign of Christine, and authorities quickly suspected foul play.
Over the years, new leads have surfaced, including a 2019 witness who claimed to have seen Christine being abducted by two men at the car wash. The witness described a white van with distinctive "West Coast Mirrors" and provided a sketch of the driver, but no arrests have been made. Christine's case remains unsolved, and investigators continue to suspect foul play in her disappearance.
