On May 18, 1987, 33-year-old Houng Bihn Lieu was fatally shot in Denver, Colorado. The incident occurred when Lieu went outside to investigate his car alarm, which had been activated by individuals attempting to break into his vehicle. Upon confronting the suspects, they fled, and Lieu pursued them. During the chase, one of the suspects shot Lieu. He was immediately transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
