Daniel Trujillo, a 23-year-old from Denver, was tragically killed on April 25, 1999. On the night of his death, Trujillo was at Veronica's Bases Loaded Bar, located near the intersection of Speer Boulevard and Federal Boulevard. A bar fight erupted, escalating into a violent altercation that spilled outside. During the chaos, Trujillo was stabbed by an unidentified assailant.
