In the spring of 2013, a night out at a concert in Denver turned tragic for 39-year-old Daniel Lovato. On the evening of April 27th, Lovato was at the Summit Music Hall when he became involved in an altercation with another man. The encounter escalated, and Lovato was struck, causing him to fall to the ground and stop breathing. He was rushed to Denver Health Medical Center with grave injuries. For four days, he fought for his life, but ultimately succumbed to his injuries on May 1, 2013.
His death was classified as a homicide.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:32 p.m. during a Kottonmouth Kings concert at the popular downtown venue on Blake Street. Following the assault, the man who struck Lovato was escorted out of the building by security and was last seen leaving the area on foot, disappearing into the night in an unknown direction. The Denver Police Department launched an investigation, seeking to identify and locate the individual responsible for Lovato's death.
In the months that followed, authorities released a description of the person of interest. He was described as a Hispanic male, approximately 30 years old, standing between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-10 with a stocky build and short hair. He had unspecified tattoos on both of his arms and, on the night of the incident, was reportedly wearing a black shirt with red cursive writing and a black hat with a brown bill. Despite the public appeal for information and the efforts of detectives, no arrests have been made in the case, which remains an unsolved homicide. The search for the unidentified suspect continues.
