In the early hours of a Sunday morning in February 2015, the life of Marlow Jenkins Martin, a 27-year-old man from Denver, Colorado, was tragically cut short. The father of two was fatally shot outside an Arby's restaurant located at 11th Avenue and Broadway. The area was bustling at the time, with several nearby bars and nightclubs having just closed for the night.
The incident unfolded just after 2 a.m. when an altercation reportedly broke out in the parking lot.
In the midst of the chaos, gunfire erupted. Martin's sister was standing right beside him when the shots were fired. Surveillance footage from the area captured the chilling sounds of the gunshots, while other videos showed numerous people fleeing the scene in the aftermath. Martin was struck by the gunfire and tragically died from his injuries right there in the parking lot. Another individual was also injured in the shooting.
In the days following the shooting, family and friends gathered for a candlelight vigil to remember Marlow, a man described by his mother as someone who 'loved everybody.'
