On the Fourth of July in 2011, a holiday celebration in Denver took a tragic turn, ending in the death of 28-year-old Dominick Johnson. A Black male, Johnson was attending a party when an altercation broke out. The dispute moved from the party to a nearby parking lot in the 3200 block of Dahlia Street.
