On the evening of April 25, 1980, 24-year-old Enrique Perez, a Hispanic male who worked at Stapleton Airport, was at the La Fiesta Lounge in Denver, Colorado. In the early hours of April 26, shortly after the lounge closed for the night, Perez was found in the parking lot next to the establishment. He had been shot and was in critical condition.
