In the midst of a period of heightened gun violence in the Denver area, 25-year-old Jonathan Saldaña Garcia was fatally shot on the evening of October 22, 2022. The incident, which also resulted in the injury of two adult women, occurred at what was described as a house party in the 1600 block of South Beach Court in the southwest part of the city.
He was one of three people shot during the violent encounter.
Following the shooting, the Denver Police Department initiated an investigation into the homicide. Their efforts led to the arrest of 20-year-old Angel Gutierrez-Gonzales in connection with the fatal shooting. Gutierrez-Gonzales was taken into custody on suspicion of first-degree murder.
The two women who were also wounded in the shooting have since been released from the hospital. While an arrest has been made in Saldaña Garcia's death, the affidavit containing the details of the probable cause for the arrest of Angel Gutierrez-Gonzales was sealed by the police department.
