In the autumn of 1991, a Denver evening was shattered by the discovery of a young man inside a vehicle that had crashed into a building at the intersection of East 38th Avenue and Hudson Street. The man, identified as Eric Skinner, a 30-year-old Black male, was found to have been shot. The incident occurred on October 7, 1991, a day that marked the beginning of a long and unresolved case for the Denver Police Department.
