In the winter of 2005, a holiday season gathering in Denver, Colorado, turned into a scene of tragedy with the death of 24-year-old David Bernal. On the night of December 10th, the young man was attending a party when the celebration was shattered by the sound of a gunshot. Officers, responding to a report of a shooting, arrived to find a grim scene.
