In the early morning hours of Sunday, September 11, 2016, a night out in Denver's Five Points neighborhood ended in tragedy for 38-year-old Gerald Hammons. Just before 5 a.m., after leaving a nearby after-hours club called Wardenclyffe, Hammons was shot and killed outside of his vehicle, which was parked near the intersection of 29th and Welton streets.
