In the early evening of May 4, 2024, a shooting in the area of Hale Parkway and Dahlia Street in east Denver led to the death of 34-year-old Baldemar Ortiz De La Fuente. Following the incident, he was transported to a local hospital, though he arrived on his own. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead. The cause of death was later determined to be multiple gunshot wounds, and the case is being investigated as a homicide.
