On a quiet Father's Day morning in Denver, Colorado, what began as a routine shift for a young security guard would end in a brutal and still-unsolved crime. Scott McCarthy, a 21-year-old male, was one of four guards on duty at the United Bank Tower on June 16, 1991, when a meticulously planned and violent robbery unfolded, leaving a lasting scar on the city.
