On December 15, 2019, a tragic incident occurred at the Elite Towing and Recovery impound lot located near East 48th Avenue and Washington Street in Denver, Colorado. Paul Dakan, a 36-year-old tow truck driver, was fatally shot in the head while on duty. The incident took place in the morning hours, and Dakan was immediately taken to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries later that same day.
