In the summer of 2004, a young Black man named Lamar Brown, who was 25 years old, lost his life in a violent encounter in Denver, Colorado. On the evening of June 24th, police received a call about shots being fired and a person down in the vicinity of the 1000 block of Logan Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Lamar Brown in an alley, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.
The investigation into the incident revealed that Brown had driven his vehicle into the
alley. As he was getting out of his car, he became involved in an altercation with an another individual. The confrontation escalated tragically, and at some point during the dispute, the unknown person shot and killed him. The circumstances leading up to this fatal altercation remain unclear.
To this day, the case remains unsolved, and no arrests have been made in connection with Lamar Brown's murder. The Denver Police Department has classified it as a cold case, but the investigation is ongoing. The suspect remains unidentified, and authorities continue to seek information from the public that might lead to a breakthrough in the case and bring justice for Lamar Brown and his family.
