On a Friday afternoon in Denver, Colorado, the life of 18-year-old Khobi Cyan Eiland, a male resident of the Park Hill neighborhood, was tragically cut short. On September 7, 2018, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Eiland was shot near East 29th Avenue and Glencoe Street. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black zip-up hoodie, grey jeans, and white tennis shoes.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but despite resuscitation efforts, he was pronounced deceased.
The Denver Police Department immediately launched a homicide investigation, seeking help from the public to identify who was responsible for the shooting. Authorities urged anyone who may have seen Eiland in the area that afternoon or had any information about the crime to come forward. To encourage tips, Metro Denver Crime Stoppers offered an initial reward for information.
Years after the fatal shooting, the case remains unsolved, and no arrests have been made. The search for suspects is ongoing, with law enforcement continuing to seek leads. In early 2024, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in conjunction with the Denver Police Department, announced a new, larger reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Eiland's death.
