On a crisp autumn evening in Colorado Springs, the life of 32-year-old Dianne Elaine Moore Hood was tragically cut short. On September 12, 1990, as she was leaving a lupus support group meeting at a community center, she was ambushed in a calculated and brutal attack. A figure disguised in military-style fatigues and a ski mask confronted her, snatched her purse to stage a robbery, and then shot her. As she lay on the ground, the attacker fired a second, fatal shot.
