On September 1, 2024, Jian Chan, a 54-year-old resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, was murdered by her husband, Stephen Chan. The incident began early in the morning when Stephen Chan called 911 and confessed to killing his wife. He subsequently disconnected the call, but the phone's location was traced to the vicinity of Walsen Road in unincorporated El Paso County.
