In the early morning hours of May 28, 2023, a shooting shattered the quiet of a 7-Eleven on B Street in unincorporated El Paso County, Colorado. When El Paso County deputies arrived around 3 a.m., they found 25-year-old Sylena Maldonado with gunshot wounds. First responders rushed her to a local hospital, but she tragically succumbed to her injuries.
