In the fall of 2016, a quiet Colorado Springs neighborhood was rocked by a tragedy that claimed the life of a long-time resident. Karen J. Canfield, a 56-year-old female, was found deceased in a home on the city's east side on October 12, 2016. Her death was the result of gun violence, an act that abruptly ended the life of a woman remembered for her good humor.
