In the winter of 2007, a tragic event unfolded in Colorado Springs that cut short the life of 16-year-old Rachel Works. On Sunday, December 9th, Rachel, her parents, and her sisters were leaving a service at the New Life Church when a gunman opened fire in the parking lot. The sudden eruption of violence claimed the lives of Rachel and her 18-year-old sister, Stephanie. Their father, David Works, was also shot and wounded in the attack.
