On October 31, 2021, a tragic incident occurred at the Valley View Apartments located at 3003 Transport St SE in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Officers from the Albuquerque Police Department responded to a "shots fired" call, arriving at the scene to find casings and blood in the area of the complex. It was discovered that one individual had been transported to the hospital by civilians, suffering from a gunshot wound.
