On August 28, 2022, at approximately 5:21 a.m., Albuquerque police officers responded to a shooting incident at 9223 Marron Circle NE, near Lomas Boulevard and I-25. Upon arrival, they discovered two individuals with fatal gunshot wounds: 49-year-old Bernabe 'Bernie Mac' Jurado and 33-year-old Nicole Amaya. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
