Jason Rcom-Nie, a 5-year-old boy from Greensboro, NC, tragically lost his life on July 21, 2011. The incident occurred when his father, Hoanh Rcom, entered the apartment of his estranged wife, H'li Nie, with an assault rifle and opened fire. The shooting resulted in the deaths of Jason, his mother's boyfriend Joshua Samuel Prago, and a family friend, Hdingh Nie. Jason, who was of Asian descent, was taken to Moses Cone Hospital but succumbed to his injuries before arrival.
