On February 19, 2022, in Roswell, New Mexico, 51-year-old Cassandra Kirk was fatally shot during an altercation with her 26-year-old roommate, Melissa Kenyon. The incident occurred around 12:45 p.m. at their shared residence. Kenyon contacted authorities to report that she had shot Kirk.
