Cassandra Kirkman, a 51-year-old White woman, was found dead in her home in Roswell, New Mexico, on February 19, 2022, after police were sent to a residence in the 900 block of South Caminisito Street just before 1 p.m. Officers arriving on the shots-fired call discovered she had been killed by a single gunshot wound to the head, turning what began as a domestic dispute inside a shared household into Roswell’s first homicide of 2022.
